Summary of Charge - Monochrome & Quiet Luxury
When talking about monochrome look, it's usually a use of one color palette but subtle different shades to create a full outfit - not only creating the outfit but also giving it emotion. Quiet luxury, on the other hand, is a lifestyle philosophy that prioritizes intentionality, emotional resonance and quality.
The Monochromatic look Asserts that:
Focusing on a single color while dressing is emotional maturity,
Monochrome should be a mix of a single color and different textures,
Emotions should determine the key color of the day,
A monochromatic look properly done is a skill mastered with time.
Quiet Luxury argues that this trend aligns with the Republic's values of:
Emotion and vibe over perfection,
Emotion rather than intuition,
Styling is not a one-dimensional act.
Monochromatic look and quiet luxury, each one alone is very powerful, but monochrome look in quiet luxury can easily be a hit or a miss, depending on different factors. We are here to find out.
The Court of Taste will now open proceedings.
422 Dispatch call:
8:01 AM - New York City.
A woman is taking the day off and wants to spend it with friends. While getting ready, she opens her wardrobe and hmmm... not much there, not much to see. She then moves to her vanity tray, lack of depth and excitement. She pursues a morning drink, well only green is staring at her. Why is that? What is happening?
She whispers: "Why do I feel like a prisoner in my own home?"
Dispatch: "422, state your aesthetic emergency."
Caller: "Razzato Code 1.113 - Beige and green have taken over. My name's Baciani P. from House of Baciata. I need assistance!"
Dispatch: "Impossible (while thinking). Immediate assistance is needed. Copy that. Melt 05 en route."
She sits quietly in the corner of a room fixing the window, nothing to see there. Melt 05, on the other hand, overly emotional, getting there in less than 5 minutes.
Melt 05 arrives. Wearing an overly decorated hat. Voice emotional: "How dare beige and green?"
Baciani P.: "It's all beige in my closet. All green in my cabinet. All clear in my purse, I feel soulless. All I heard about the past couple of months was Quiet Luxury and I must have purchased clothes, everything is beige in my closet. My beauty routine is all about natural lips, no color - where's the emotion? Don't even getting me started on that green thing called matcha - where's the taste? I feel like I'm losing myself, I'm losing personality."
Melt 05: "Worse, you're losing individuality (all emotional)."
Baciani P. and Melt 05 are staring at each other, both emotional; somehow, Melt 05 is feeling worse than Baciani P.
Baciani P.: "You're right, I never thought of it this way, what could be done. Should I file a report, what's the next step? Mind you, there are some brands while heavily focusing on Quiet Luxury that do offer personality - some favorites of mine... Peter Do with an incredible tailoring, La Bouche Rouge Paris with a stunning lipstick collection and Matchaful - incredible matcha; yet, I still feel a lack, why is that?"
Melt 05 (Mr. Libre): "Baciani P. I'm officer Mr. Libre from House of Baciata. I thought we were passed this stage and I can't believe we're right back at it. How can we... (sobbing)? Anyways, I apologize. I noticed some infractions such as Razzato Law I, Codes 1.113 'Excessive beige without professional depth constitutes emotional negligence', 01-A 'Monochrome overused (severe)', Law II, Code 01-B 'Beauty has no innovation, it only has flat effects', Law III, Code 03-L 'Matcha dependency crisis'.
Mr. Libre took a sigh as she is even more emotional than Baciani P., arranges her belt.
Mr. Libre: "We will investigate everything we talked about: the brands, the trend, the technique. I can't believe what's happening. I will make sure a detective is assigned to the case by the end of the day. Please keep yourself available for further questions. Don't worry, this will not get the best of us!"
Back To The Station
Mr. Libre is having issues controlling her emotions, it feels as if her worst nightmares are coming to haunt her. Overload of matcha, overload of beige, what could be worse than that. Pulling herself together, she sees her favorite detective, the one who always find a way to help her get her story together and willing to help her - it's Mr. Clause. They know each other for more than 3 years now, he's always been there when she needed. She reached out to him. He will look into it and investigate.
Mr. Clause hates seeing Mr. Libre sobs. No way, green is taking over, no way beige keeps gaining momentum. Where's the emotion?
This case requires further investigation. Mr. Clause from House of Baciata will be the lead. Case number: INV-B0001.
